I grew up in Williams Lake out in the country with some Swiss immigrant hillbilly parents. Growing up on a small hobby farm has always been my roots. My teen years we lived in town. After school I spent most of my time working to travel and learning new skills at various jobs. Life experience. Now I work at a community garden in town, educating about composting, garden tips, water collection and repurpose projects. I also assist our regional district with their recycling programs and latest waste diversion initiatives. I work at Mt. Timothy Ski Area in the winters and promote the sport of enjoying winter to the fullest! 🙂

Better Waste Diversion at Rest Areas

Advocacy, Awareness, Education, Restoration
To constantly improve the way we handle the way we live and share with our environment around us.
To improve the waste diversion we have at our rest areas in the Cariboo Regional District. Currently one garbage can is the most common option. I would like to see more recycling options or the proper signage in place to redirect travelers to the correct places to go for recyclables. We have many avenues for many different types of products and packaging, however our tourists seem to be unaware of them.
