Watershed Workforce: Lower Fraser
September 27-28, 2025.
Langley and Coquitlam, BC (Lower Fraser Region)
This two-day immersive experience is designed for youth (ages 15-20) interested in discovering career paths that support watershed health and their communities.

Day 1
Hands-on experience at the sc̓e:ɬxʷəy̓əm (Salmon River) Foodlands corridor in Langley. Take part in restoration site maintenance, fish trapping, and water quality monitoring with experts, including the Fraser Valley Conservancy, Kerr Wood Leidal Consulting, and researchers from the PERCS team at the University of British Columbia, while learning about careers in watershed stewardship. In the evening, we’ll camp together, building connections and enjoying time outdoors.

Day 2
Celebrate World/BC Rivers Day with a Voyageur canoe paddle from Fort Langley to Coquitlam. Travel the Fraser River alongside Voyageur Adventures, watershed leaders, and knowledge holders, gaining inspiration and insight into the diverse careers that support watershed health.
This is a two-day, overnight experience, and a packing list with required supplies will be provided closer to the date of the trip. A small refundable deposit of $50 is required to confirm your spot, which will be returned upon participation*. If this refundable fee is a barrier, please let us know.
*Note: This fee will not be refunded to registrants who don’t show up or cancel less than 72 hours in advance.
