In the Nechako region, within the territories of the Stellat’en, Nadleh Whut’en, and Saik’uz Nations, Foodlands work is at an early stage.
Initial conversations and exploratory work are underway in collaboration with Saik’uz First Nation and landholders in the region. This stage is focused on building relationships, understanding local land and water conditions, and identifying where place-based restoration and cultural food system work may take shape over time.
If you are interested in learning more about Foodlands, or curious about how this approach might take shape where you live, you are welcome to reach out. Conversations begin with listening and learning, and help determine whether and how Foodlands might be relevant in a particular context.
