Position: Director, Partnerships & Outreach
Location: Anywhere in BC, but within the Fraser Watershed is preferred. Work from your home office with travel occasionally required in the Fraser Watershed.
Position type: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
Pay: $60,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
2 week paid vacation first year, 3 week in second year.
Optional extended health and dental.

The Rivershed Society of BC is looking for an outgoing and passionate person to join our team as a Director, Partnerships & Outreach.
The Director of Partnerships and Outreach will play a lead role in building a movement of 100,000 Watershed Defenders in the Fraser Watershed. The position will develop partner network that will work to identify priority regional protection campaigns and restoration projects, build our supporter database and lead the implementation of engagement programs throughout the Watershed.
The Rivershed Society of BC is a non-profit dedicated to using Watershed CPR (Connect. Protect. Restore.) to transform the Fraser into a resilient watershed, with people, salmon, and economies flourishing in rivershed communities.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with community groups, NGOs, institutions, and other partners throughout the Fraser Watershed, in fulfillment of Rivershed’s mission and goals.
- Recruit new partners for the Watershed Defender Movement.
- Work with Director of Communications and Design to manage partner communication within and for the Watershed Defender Movement.
- Organize regional meetings to engage key partners in all six regions of the Fraser Watershed.
- Participate in partner and network meetings, communication channels, and events (e.g. Our Water BC, Adapting for Ecological Resilience Network).
- Research and identify new partnerships/networks to engage in Watershed CPR
- Support regional partners with Watershed CPR Campaigns and projects.
- Ensure the database is kept up to date and effective.
Programs
- Lead development, implementation and evaluation of our Watershed CPR programs (formerly SLLP, River Clinics, FraserFEST).
- Manage contractor relationships, communication, timeline and deliverables associated with Watershed CPR programs (e.g., web developers, videographers).
- Oversee all communication with program participants.
- Ensure the creation of safety plans for all in-person Watershed CPR programs.
- Work with Director of Communications to promote Watershed CPR Programs.
Leadership
- Provide strategic advice to the Rivershed team on priority protection campaigns and restoration projects in the Fraser Watershed.
- Hire, supervise and mentor department staff.
- Participate in Director meetings and attend Board meetings as requested.
- Work with Rivershed’s other Directors to develop and execute strategic organizational plans, operational goals and performance metrics to support the growth and productivity of the organization.
Miscellaneous
- Participate in ongoing decolonization and reconciliation discussions.
- Assist in writing and preparing grants, progress reports, presentations, and other documents as needed.
- Assist the Rivershed team with the development of programs, ideas, and strategies to improve the function of the organization and fulfill Watershed CPR goals and objectives.

Tech Skills:
- Must be able to work in a collaborative online setting from a home office.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Must have own computer, phone, and access to highspeed internet.
Knowledge of Watersheds:
- An understanding of the Fraser Watershed and its significance.
Education
- Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
