Restore 2.4% of the Fraser Watershed
In many areas of the Fraser, protection is not enough to ensure the long-term health and resiliency of the Watershed. Restoration is necessary to prevent biodiversity loss and combat climate change while increasing ecosystem resiliency. Canada has the potential to lead the way by restoring critical habitat for species such as salmon which in turn, will improve local economies and benefit community health and well-being.

Our goal of 2.4% reflects the Bonn Challenge, which is a global effort to bring 350 million hectares of deforested and degraded land into restoration by 2030. It also supports our role as an Actor in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
