Wendy DaDalt

Board Secretary, Lower Fraser Region

Wendy is recently retired from managing the East Area of Metro Vancouver Regional Parks (34 years) with several parks on the Lower Fraser River. One of her most relevant roles was serving as Interregional Coordinator of the Experience the Fraser Initiative, a joint project of the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley Regional Districts with support from the Province of BC. It envisions a land trail and blueway stretching from Hope to the Salish Sea connecting communities and travellers with the river, its environment and people.

As a geographer with a Masters of Natural Resources Management from Simon Fraser University, Wendy promotes planning and action at a watershed level. She was part of a collaborative effort to fundraise for and develop the Kanaka Creek Watershed Stewardship Centre in Maple Ridge. Fostering an appreciation of nature to engage people in stewardship, land protection and discovery is her life long pursuit. Wendy is currently an active director of the Abbotsford Mission Nature Club and Secretary of the Mount Lehman Community Association Board. She enjoys hiking, paddling, gardening and camping.
