Sierra Rae
Vice Chair, Thompson Region
Sierra grew up in the Thompson region of the Fraser Watershed on the traditional lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc. She now works as a Governance Coordinator, resourcing a variety of institutional committee representatives and advocacy campaigns. Sierra has an educational background in natural resource science from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and has been involved in a number of species-at-risk, ecological relationship, and restoration assessment projects within the Thompson and Okanagan. In her undergraduate program, Sierra became involved in student politics and led the TRU Students’ Union in the role of President and Chair. Particularly relevant is Sierra’s experience in Indigenous consultation on the Salmon Allocation Policy and the role she’s played in developing and reviewing grants for not-for-profit organizations.
Outside of work Sierra can often be found open-water swimming, backpacking, or rock-climbing with friends!
