Hell’s Gate: Boston Bar to Yale Sponsored Rafting Trip

Boston Bar to Yale 1-day raft trip

Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th  – Approx. 6 hours.

Hold on to your hats! This day of heart-racing adventure is sure to get you soaked even on the sunniest of days. Enjoy the majestic views, wildlife and cultural history on this diverse and incredible waterway. Challenge the rapids at Scuzzy Rock, China Bar and more. Pause midway for a well-deserved rest after conquering the unforgettable rapids at Hell’s Gate. The grand finale is the roller coaster action of Sailor Bar Rapids, a chain of huge standing waves that we run several times.

What to expect: The trip is a power rafting trip, the rafts are large, stable and comfortable. The rapids splash, so you may get wet. The trip is suitable for ages 8 to 80 but it can be a long day for some.

What to Bring: Lifejackets and lunch are provided on the trip, and the FraserFEST Community Dinner is included afterwards (see below). Wear shorts or pants, a t-shirt and a pair of shoes that can get wet. Avoid heavy cotton if possible, and wear lightweight, quick drying clothing instead. For footwear, old running shoes or sport sandals work well, please avoid flip flops or sandals without a heel strap. Bring a small backpack with a warm layer of clothes, drinking bottle, sunscreen and a brimmed hat. In addition, you should bring a change of clothes that you keep in your vehicle for after the trip.

Logistics: Meet your rafting group at 9:30am on your rafting day, at the Fraser River Raft Expedition headquarters at 30950 Trans Canada Highway, Yale. After check-in and a welcome circle, you will receive instructions before being shuttled to Boston Bar, where you will board the raft for an enjoyable day of rafting. You land back in Yale, where you are invited to join us for a FraserFEST Community Dinner (see below).
