The Fraser River directly impacts and is impacted by our local food system. In collaboration with local eateries within the Fraser Rivershed, we are going to be sharing some delicious recipes made with local ingredients. All restaurants highlighted chose to actively pursue the use of local ingredients in their fare, and want to inspire you to do the same.
Super Crucifer Salad

Long Table Grocery is a locally-owned independent food hub providing good food, that is sustainably sourced and locally-rooted in the Cariboo region of BC. As well as subscription Harvest Boxes and grocery delivery to Quesnel and Williams Lake, we operate a fresh food grocery and catering service. We currently work with over 40 North Cariboo farmers and food producers, growing community through food. We purchase local produce and food products when available, and purchase organic produce from ethical farms along the BC and the Pacific Coast during our local off-season. We also work with several local charities to improve access to fresh food for local families through our Pay-it-Forward grocery donation program in partnership with our incredible customers.
Serves 4 people
- 135 grams chickpeas soaked and cooked
- 80 grams broccoli florets or green beans
- 60 grams brussel sprouts, de-stemmed and julienned
- 1/2 bunch green onions
- 70 grams celery, diced
- 1/2 bunch cilantro, roughly chopped
- 10 grams ginger, grated
- 35 ml lime juice
- 60 ml avocado oil
- 20 grams honey
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Mix salad ingredients together.
- Mix dressing ingredients together.
- Toss salad in dressing and serve.
