Facilitators

Doug bio photoDoug Radies

Doug has been a facilitator with the Sustainable Living Leadership Program since its inception in 2002. He worked full time on parks and wilderness and BC land use issues for 13 years. In 1990, he spearheaded the campaign to protect the Cariboo Mountains. He was also involved in the Cariboo-Chilcotin, Robson Valley and Lillooet Land Use Plans. Doug has a degree in Education from the University of British Columbia and is a teacher in Vancouver.

Glenda bio photoGlenda Newsted

Glenda was a graduate of the Sustainable Living Leadership Program class of 2007, a trainee in 2008 and a full facilitator in 2009. She is passionate about reconnecting people to nature. She has experience working and volunteering with non-profit and local government organizations in urban and rural communities within the Fraser River Basin. Glenda has a Diploma in Recreation Leadership from Langara College, and a degree through Thompson Rivers Open University focusing on sustainable community development and ecological restoration. Glenda lives in Prince George.

Fin bio photoFin Donnelly

Fin founded the Rivershed Society of British Columbia in 1996 and co-created the Sustainable Living Leadership Program in 2002. His passion for the environment stemmed from his University of Victoria philosophy studies. He has been an advocate for sustainable living for more than two decades. He has twice swum the 1,400 km length of the Fraser River, and made than 600 presentations to over 65,000 people in 150 BC communities. Fin was a Coquitlam City Councillor for seven years; he is now the Member of Parliament for New Westminster-Coquitlam & Port Moody. Fin lives in Coquitlam.

Sharman bio photoSharman Learie

Sharman co-created the Sustainable Living Leadership Program, along with Fin, in 2002. He is an instructor at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in the Adventure Tourism Department. He has worked fifteen years in the Outdoor Adventure Industry doing Leadership Development, Hiking, Whitewater rafting/canoeing & Kayaking. He is a graduate of the Adventure Guides and Tourism Management programs at the University College of the Cariboo. He recently completed his Masters degree (at Royal Roads University) focusing on evaluating the impact of the Sustainable Living Leadership Program. Sharman lives in Kamloops.

Sharolise bio photoSharolise Baker

Sharolise is member of RSBC's Board of Directors, and has been with the RSBC since 2000. She has been a strong supporter of the Sustainable Living Leadership Program since its inception in 2002. She has been involved with the Fraser River Fisheries for many years, having worked with Fisheries Renewal BC, the Habitat Conservation Stewardship Program, the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council and now with her own Nation, Stellat'en. Sharolise lives in Fraser Lake.
